This was the original concept I was working off of, was done by Christian Alzmann, one of the main concept artists for the show. Best quality image I could find online.

An early attempt at using Fibermesh to create the fur, but it proved too inconsistent to look appealing.

A great creature concept that can be found in The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, pages 22-23, done by I believe Christian Alzmann. The scales on the face were made using the FlippedNormals Skin Kit https://flippednormals.com/downloads/flippednormals-skin-kit/ and the fur was made using the FlippedNormals Creature Kit https://flippednormals.com/downloads/flippednormals-creature-kit-personal/ I highly recommend both, they're real life savers from artists new to working on fine details in ZBrush!

This represents my most ambitious and worked on project since I graduated from the Academy of Interactive Entertainment last year, and it was really nice to finally have something to focus working on daily, if only for an hour or two at a time. I hope to explore doing more digital maquettes based on concepts from the other Star Wars artbooks I own, there's certainly no end of creatures and characters from a galaxy far, far away for me to model!
